John Prine Covers Stevie Wonder For ‘Spotify Singles’


[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Iconic singer-songwriter John Prine covered one of Stevie Wonder’s anthems “I Just Called To Say I Love You” during a live session recorded for the ongoing Spotify Singles series. The series typically sees musicians record one of their own songs as well as a cover of a song they love for a special release via the global streaming platform.

Additionally, the 71-year-old singer-songwriter also performed a song from his recently issued album, The Tree of Forgiveness during his session in Nashville. Prine released The Tree of Forgiveness, his first album of new material in 13 years which was recorded at the historic RCA Studio A. The ten-track LP was produced by Nashville vet Dave Cobb and accompanied by The Secret Sisters. Dave Cobb also served as the producer for recent records from Sturgill SimpsonJason Isbell and more.

This week John Prine also recently announced his brand-new festival destination event, All The Best, set to take place in November 2019 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
