Bob Weir & Herbie Hancock Announced for Sound Summit on Mt. Tam

Hey Bay Area folks! On Saturday, September 8th, the Mountain Theater in Mount Tamalpais State Park, the 4,000-capacity natural stone amphitheater, will host the annual Sound Summit. The concert organized by Roots & Branches Conservancy raises money for this epic park. The Sound Summit has raised almost $200,000 in its first three years of existence. Year in year out, the Sound Summit taps some of the most unique and eclectic music artists around, bringing them to one of the most gorgeous spots in Marin County and the Bay Area.

This year, Sound Summit has curatde a truly prodigious lineup; moreover, it is headlined by the iconic legendary jazz-funk artist Herbie Hancock. Hancock shares the lineup with these exuberant leading ladies Grace Potter and Nikki Lane. Con Brio, the soulful, psych-rock San Francisco based band will be joining the line up just off their release of their new LP, Explorer.

Bob Weir, the Grateful Dead and Dead & Company guitarist, will return once again to Sound Summit, serving as a special guest during the benefit.

Tickets for the 2018 Sound Summit go on sale this Friday, July 27th, at 10 a.m. (PT) for the event on September 8th at the Mountain Theater in Mount Tamalpais State Park You can head to the festival’s website for more information and ticketing.
