Rolling Stones Announce Massive Vinyl Box Set

‘The Studio Albums Vinyl Collection’ will feature every studio LP made by the legendary band from 1971-2016

Having already given their 1960s output the box set treatment, the Rolling Stones are now collecting their studio albums from 1971 through 2016 for an equally expansive package. The Rolling Stones have announced the release of a new and limited-edition 15-album vinyl box set collection. The group will deliver the Studio Albums Vinyl Collection: 1971-2016; that time period includes Stones staples such as Sticky Fingers, Some Girls and Exile on Main St., along with later career offerings like Steel Wheels, A Bigger Bang and 2016’s Blue & Lonesome.

Grateful Dead’s Anthem Of The Sun set for 50th anniversary reissue

Grateful Dead’s album Anthem Of The Sun is to be reissued this summer to mark its 50th anniversary. The band’s second album which was launched on July 18, 1968, almost 50 years to the day! The archive will release a two-CD deluxe edition as well as a special picture disc vinyl edition of Anthem of the Sun which is due out on July 13.

Nick Mason to perform early Pink Floyd material with Supergroup

Legendary Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason has formed a new supergroup to play Floyd’s early music, named Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets.

Named Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, after Pink Floyd’s second album which came out in 1968. the four-piece group, Saucerful Of Secrets will perform early Pink Floyd material at four intimate shows in London next month in May.  The lineup includes Spandau Ballet’s Gary KempLee Harris of the Blockheads, bassist Guy Pratt, who took over from Roger Waters in Floyd, and composer Dom Beken, a collaborator with late Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright. Pratt and Beken worked together in the electronic band Transit Kings.

Mono Version of Pink Floyd’s Debut Album Released For Record Store Day

For Record Store Day 2018 (Saturday 21st April), Pink Floyd will release the band’s debut album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn on vinyl, with a new mono 2018 remaster by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman, via participating retailers. Remastered from the original 1967 mono mix, the limited quantity release is delivered on premium 12″ 180-gram black vinyl and comes paired with a 540 x 388mm poster on art paper, as well as a foil blocked outer wallet.
