The Must Watch Eminem Interview

Eminem gets candid with Sway in his first interview since dropping “Kamikaze.”

Eminem has never been one to hold his tongue on the mic. Since the days of Infinite and The Slim Shady LP, Em has become known for speaking his truth detailing his troubling relationships with women, remarking on the drama of other celebrities or declaring his disdain for the likes of Ja Rule or the former Source Magazine owner Benzino.

These moments of candor are all over on Kamikaze, Eminem’s surprise retaliation album created as a direct response to the legions of Revival haters. Em doesn’t pull any punches on the album. In fact, he goes straight for the jugular of all his haters out there who have gone on record having less than positive things to say about his previous project. Though Slim Shady explicitly puts in the crosshairs several people (including rappers, his ex and politicians alike) there are still a lot of questions left in the wake for fans and hater to decode after Eminem surprised fans and dropped it with no announcement or pre-promotion on August 31st.

Post Malone Breaks J. Cole’s Spotify First-Day Streaming Record

Shortly after we wrote last week that J. Cole’s new album, KODbroke Spotify’s standing record for release-day U.S streams with 36,656,086 plays, Post Malone has gone and topped it. Post Malone’s sophomore album Beerbongs & Bentleys has only been out for a little over two days, but it’s already making history and raising the bar, at least when it comes to numbers. Swedish streaming giant Spotifycongratulated the hip-hop musician on Twitter by revealing he had broken a pair of important records on the platform after just the first day of availability.

More people in the US listened to the rap album on Apple Music and Spotify in its first 24 hours than any other.

The quite interesting part of this story: J.Cole has broken the record for the most day-one streams on both Apple Music and Spotify in the US market.  People streamed “KOD” 64.5 million times in 24 hours on Apple Music, beating “Views” by Drake  (the previous record owner) by almost a million streams on the first day it was released. The Biggie Smalls Brooklyn Tour

Today Marks The 21th Anniversary Of Biggie Smalls’ Death

21 years ago today, the entire city mourned as it learned that Christopher Wallace, better known at The Notorious B.I.G. and Biggie Smalls, had been killed in an L.A. drive-by shooting. Though he was shot in Los Angeles, Biggie was born, raised, and made a name for himself in Bed-Stuy and throughout the New York City streets.

You can still tour Biggie’s old stomping grounds that he brought to life with his iconic music. The Bed-Stuy neighborhood may have changed significantly since Biggie’s day, but you can still find his style, his essence and his unique spirit in murals around the neighborhood and at some of his favorite haunts. Here is a road map on where to find these gems.
